Jordan Farmar Bio:
Jordan Farmar (born on November 30, 1986) is an American basketball player who was drafted 26th in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. He had previously been the starting point guard for the UCLA men's basketball team. Jordan Farmar was born in Los Angeles, California. He attended Taft High School in Woodland Hills, a suburban community of the San Fernando Valley within the city of Los Angeles. Jordan's father, baseball player Damon Farmar, is African-American and his mother, Melinda Baker, is Jewish; his step-father, Yehuda, is Israeli. Farmar was raised in the Jewish religion. Farmar has a half sister, Shoshana.
In the 2006 NCAA Tournament, Jordan Farmar led the UCLA Bruins to the National Championship game against the Florida Gators which they subsequently lost, 57-73. Farmar led all scorers with 18 points and also finished with two rebounds, four assists and two steals. On April 20, 2006 he and teammate Arron Afflalo declared to enter the NBA Draft. On June 17th, 2006, Afflalo withdrew from the draft and the following day Farmar declared he was staying in the draft, officially breaking up the Bruins' backcourt duo.
Jordan Farmar impressed NBA scouts at the pre-draft combine with a 42 inch vertical leap that was the highest of any player there. On June 28, 2006 the Los Angeles Lakers selected PG Jordan Farmar out of UCLA with the 26th pick in the 1st round of the NBA Draft. He will wear the number #5 uniform.
On July 8, 2006 Jordan Farmar made his debut at the Summer Pro League at the Pyramid on the campus of California State University Long Beach. He played an impressive game where he showed a decent knowledge of the triangle offense. His final game totals were 17 points and three assists in 31 minutes of play.
Jordan Farmar is currently dating Jill Oakes, a former UCLA Women's soccer player. He resides in his childhood home in Van Nuys, California with his family.
